Four men jailed for burglary

Four Columbian men were sentenced to three to four years¡¯ imprisonment for burglary upon conviction at the District Court today (October 27).

The court heard that a burglary gang prized nine safe deposit boxes of a bank on Nathan Road, Mong Kok on March 5 and stole valuables amounting to about $10 million.

Following extensive investigation by Regional Crime Unit of Kolwoon West, four men aged 32 to 52 were arrested on March 10. Part of the stolen goods were later recovered from their hotel rooms.

The men were subsequently jointly charged with one count of burglary while the 32-year-old man was additionally charged with one count of possession of forged document. They were convicted and sentence was meted out today.
