In response to media enquiries, a Government spokesman gives the following reply:
"We welcome the views expressed by the Bar Association and Law Society on the Trial Scheme on School Drug Testing in Tai Po District (Trial Scheme).
Since the release of a preliminary proposal for a Trial Scheme for discussion, the Government has been engaged in intensive consultations with various stakeholders. Organisations and individuals from various sectors of the community have been enthusiastically expressing their views and offering suggestions on various aspects of the Trial Scheme.
We will listen carefully to all views expressed and refine the details of the scheme before implementation."
