The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The food premises (胜兴火窝小炒), at Shop 2, ground floor, Hing Nin Building, 30-36 Hop Yick Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (July 8) to July 21.
“In June last year and April this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises,” a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
“A total fine of $9,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension.”
He said the food premises also had convictions in September 2007 and May last year for the same offence.
“A fine of $5,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 17-23 last year,” the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
