The GovHK portal (www.gov.hk) is enhancing its website for more efficient service delivery and user-friendly browsing.
A new feature to display the most popular and updated search keywords on the homepage has been introduced. The new function will facilitate GovHK customers to look for Government information more effectively and provide an overview of the topics the general public are most concerned about. Recommended links will also be placed in a new section on the search result page, highlighting new government initiatives and improving the relevancy of search results.
To provide more direct, speedy and simple delivery of online information and services, GovHK has put forward the commonly used links as quick links on its homepage, such as the government telephone directory and the list of government websites.
The portal is also introducing more customer-oriented services. For example, once users have visited the portal, they will be redirected to the GovHK homepage in the version they use before, be it Traditional Chinese version, Simplified Chinese version, English version or Mobile version. This will save users the repeated efforts in choosing the version they want on the landing page, as in browsing the former GovHK.
The design of the website interface has also been enriched to better appeal to the eye of Internet users, catering to their browsing habits and adding a more human touch. The new design is more vivid in colours and graphics, with buttons and more photographs added.
Set up in 2007, GovHK provides a one-stop portal where the public can easily access frequently sought online government information and services. Since its launch, the portal has enhanced its design and functions and introduced new services and features to meet users' needs and expectations.
