Hongkong Post today (June 8) announced that a new set of "Heartwarming" stamps will be released on Thursday, June 25, 2009. Associated philatelic products will also be available from the same day.
The design of the new set takes after the third issue released in 2007. Interesting similarities and differences between cultures are highlighted with felt appliqu in cheerful colours. The "Celebrations" stamps compare the festive excitement of the Chinese lion dance with fun-filled parties in the Western style. Blossoming flowers and fluttering butterflies in the "Love and Care" stamps convey warmth and romance in the air.
Official First Day Covers at $1 each will be put on sale at all post offices from June 11. The stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office and Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin Central Post Offices from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from June 11 to 17.
