The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) announced that it will receive applications for Itinerant Hawker Licences (Frozen Confectionery) from Friday (April 24) to May 14.
The Government reviewed the hawker licensing policy last year and proposed to issue a fixed number of new Itinerant Hawker Licences (Frozen Confectionery), provided that food safety and environmental hygiene was not compromised. After consultation with relevant parties, the Government has decided to issue 61 new Itinerant Hawker Licences (Frozen Confectionery), thus increasing the total number of these licences from 27 now up to 88.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Aged 18 or above;
2. With Hong Kong permanent resident status;
3. Currently not holding any valid hawker licence;
4. Has not entered into any market stall tenancy agreement with the FEHD that remains in force;
5. Has not participated in the Voluntary Surrender Schemes for Fixed-Pitch (Cooked Food or Light Refreshment) Hawker Licences or Itinerant Hawker Licences; and
6. None of their parents, spouse or children currently holds any valid hawker licence.
Application forms for Itinerant Hawker Licences (Frozen Confectionery) can be downloaded from FEHD's website (www.fehd.gov.hk) or obtained at the department's district offices.
Completed application forms can be returned either through fax (3540 4247) or by mail, or submitted in person to the following offices:

Should the applications received exceed the number of licences intended to be issued, FEHD will inform eligible applicants in writing to participate in a computer ballot on June 12.
Applicants who fail to use the prescribed form, submit late or repeated applications or provide incomplete or inaccurate information will be disqualified.
