Appointments to CIIF Committee announced

     The Government announced today (March 27) the re-appointment of seven incumbent members to the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) Committee for a term of two years with effect from April 1.  

     The seven members are Mr David Chan Wai-ming, Ms Chau Chuen-heung, Mr Chia Kok-onn, Dr Alice Chong Ming-lin, Mr Lai Chi-tong, Professor Joe Leung Cho-bun and Dr Stanley Ma Ching-hing.

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, thanked the members for their contribution to the CIIF in the past two years and looked forward to their continuous support in the coming term.

     He said, ¡°Since its establishment in 2002, the $300 million CIIF has supported more than 200 community projects aimed at developing social capital in Hong Kong.  I am most grateful to the CIIF Committee for its wise counsel in this regard.¡±

     The CIIF Committee is tasked to allocate funding for community projects and advise the Government on the development of social capital. Following is the list of non-official members as from April 1, 2009:
