Yau Ma Tei food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Yau Ma Tei to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises (ºÍζ²Ë¹Ý), at rear block, ground floor, 282 Reclamation Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (January 28) to February 10.

     "In July and September last year (2008), there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "A total fine of $20,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

     He said the food premises also had two convictions for the same offence in March last year.

     "A total fine of $13,500 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from June 1 to 7 last year," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
