The Leisure and Cultural Services Department today (January 17) announced the special opening hours for its museums and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre during the Lunar New Year holidays.
Details of the special opening hours are:
January 25 (Lunar New Year's Eve): Apart from Sheung Yiu Folk Museum which will close at 4pm, all other museums - the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Hong Kong Railway Museum, Sam Tung Uk Museum, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre, Hong Kong Film Archive and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre - will close at 5pm.
All museums and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre will be closed on January 26 and 27 (the first two days of the Lunar New Year).
On January 28 (the third day of the Lunar New Year), the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre and the Hong Kong Film Archive will open as usual; while the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Hong Kong Railway Museum, Sam Tung Uk Museum, Sheung Yiu Folk Museum and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre will remain closed.
As January 29 falls on the regular closing day of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Science Museum, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre and the Hong Kong Film Archive, these museums will be closed on that day while all other museums will remain open as usual.
