Two Immigration Officers left for Singapore today (August 3) to take part in an attachment programme.
The two officers, Mr Fu Ho-wai and Mr Teddy Yeung Hong-lu, met the Assistant Director (Management and Support) of the Immigration Department, Mr Corrado Chow, before leaving to attend the two-week programme with the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
The objective of the programme is to provide participants with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the work of other immigration authorities from which they can learn and also enhance their work quality.
In his briefing before the officers¡¯ departure, Mr Chow said co-operation and communication between the department and the relevant overseas authorities were increasing.¡°The attachment programme is highly desirable to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and sharing of experience between our officers and worldwide counterparts,¡±he said.
