The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (May 23) announced that due to sand loss in part of Golden Beach in Tuen Mun, lookout towers no. 3 and 4 and the area beside the lookout towers have been temporarily closed, pending detailed examinations by relevant works departments to find out if their structures have been affected. The areas of the beach and the swimming zone have also been reduced correspondingly for safety sake until further notice. The other parts of the beach area and swimming zone remain unaffected.
The LCSD has posted notices at the beach, informing the public that the beach area and the swimming zone have been reduced and advising the public not to enter the cordoned off area.
