Woman killed in Sai Kung traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident on Hiram¡¯s Highway in Sai Kung this morning (May 23) in which a 31-year-old woman was killed.

About 5.50am, a car driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling on Hiram¡¯s Highway towards Kowloon. Near Pak Wai the car lost control and crashed into a public light bus travelling on the opposite carriageway. The car driver and a 31-year-old female passenger were removed from the vehicle by firemen.

Both were rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital with serious injuries and the passenger was certified dead at 6.37am. The 47-year-old male driver of the public light bus and a 51-year-old female passenger were also taken to the hospital with slight injuries.

The Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East has taken over the case for investigation.
