The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) published the Hong Kong Energy Statistics 2007 Annual Report today (May 22).
The report describes the situation of energy supply and demand in Hong Kong. It contains comprehensive statistical information relating to different forms of energy, including oil products, coal products, electricity and gas. It also includes an overall energy balance which summarises the sources and uses of different forms of energy, and depicts their relationship in the energy transformation processes.
Major statistical information presented in the report include:
(i) list prices, storage capacity, tank stock, imports, re-exports, retained imports, unit values of imports and quantity of sales by type of users for oil products;
(ii) imports, re-exports, retained imports and unit values of imports for coal products; and
(iii) generating capacity and production for electricity and gas as well as consumption by type of users for electricity and gas.
Annual figures for the years 1997 to 2007 and quarterly figures for 2006 and 2007 are provided for most of these statistics.

Print version of the report is available for sale at HK$66 per copy and it can be purchased in the following ways:
(i) Purchase in person at the Publications Unit of the C&SD (Address: 19/F Wanchai Tower, 12 Harbour Road, Wan Chai; Tel: 2582 3025).
