**********************************************************

The Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival today (May 16, Toronto time) announced at a media launch that this year's festival, to be held on June 21 and June 22, will carry an "equestrian" theme to celebrate Hong Kong as a co-host city of the 2008 Olympic Games.

The festival, in its 20th year this June, will feature a Dressage and Jumping Performance led by Miss Jacqueline Brooks of the Canadian Dressage Team on the Centre Island in Toronto.  Miss Brooks, who won the Team Silver at the 2003 Pan American Games, is a top candidate of the Canadian national team, which is going to take part in the Olympic equestrian events in Hong Kong in August.

The festival, organised by Toronto Chinese Business Association (TCBA), is one of the most popular and celebrated community events in Toronto, attracting 180 teams from North America, Europe and Africa this year.  It is expected that over 120,000 people from all walks of life will attend the competitions.
