Construction Industry Council meets tomorrow

    The following is issued on behalf of the Construction Industry Council:

    The Construction Industry Council (CIC) will meet tomorrow (May 2) at 2.30pm in Room 1201, 12/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong.

    The agenda items include:

(1)  CIC guidelines on ¡ª
- safety of tower cranes
- site safety measures for working in hot weather
- safety of site vehicles and mobile plant;

(2)  Fifth progress report of Committee on Construction Site Safety;

(3)  Sixth progress report of Committee on Environment and Technology;

(4)  Fourth progress report of Committee on Subcontracting;

(5)  Fourth progress report of Committee on Procurement;

(6)  Second progress report of Construction Industry Training Board;

(7)  Fourth progress report of Committee on Manpower Training and Development;

(8)  Report of activities, statement of accounts and auditor's report for former Construction Industry Training Authority for 2007;

(9)  Administration matters; and

(10) Fifth progress report of Committee on Administration and Finance.

    People are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting. Due to the physical constraints of the venue, seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

    The discussion on the last three items will not be open to the public in view of privacy and commercial sensitivity.
