Tuen Mun food factory ordered to suspend business
*************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food factory in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The food factory, at Shop No. 23, ground floor, Glorious Market, Glorious Garden, 45 Lung Mun Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (April 22) to May 5, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In July and November last year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises.

"A total fine of $3,200 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He said the food premises also had two convictions in May and June respectively last year for the same offence.

"A total fine of $3,400 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from September 27 to October 3 last year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
