The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (April 17) obtained three orders in the District Court for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $780,000 against two employers.
The District Court today issued judgments against two employers, namely, South Bay Vietnamese Restaurant Limited and Double Enterprises Development Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $715,130.34 and $67,914, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 193 and five employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendants to pay costs of $930.
