DC chairmen and vice-chairmen visit ICAC (with photos)
******************************************************

District Council (DC) chairmen and vice-chairmen, accompanied by the Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Pamela Tan, visited the ICAC Building in North Point today (April 15) to learn more about the work of the commission. This was the first visit of this nature for the new-term District Councils.

The DC chairmen and vice-chairmen were briefed by the ICAC Commissioner, Mr Timothy Tong, on the work of the commission before touring the exhibition hall of the ICAC Building.

Mrs Tan said that DCs and the ICAC were close working partners and the DCs had been organising activities with the commission to educate the public on corruption prevention and to promote the values of integrity. She said she believed that the DCs would continue to work closely with the commission on community education and building a fair and clean Hong Kong.

To enable them to gain a better understanding of the work of government departments as well as public and private bodies, the Home Affairs Department has regularly organised visit programmes for the DC chairmen and vice-chairmen, such as visits to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Lok Ma Chau boundary checkpoint.
