Immigration officers participate in attachment programme (with photo)
*********************************************************

Three Immigration Officers left for the Mainland today (April 13) for a two-week attachment programme.

The attachment programme in Guangzhou is co-organised by the Hong Kong Immigration Department and the Bureau of Entry & Exit Authority (BEEA) in Beijing.  The programme is reciprocal with three officers from the Immigration Department attached to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and three officers from the BEEA attached to the Hong Kong International Airport.

The aim of the programme is to provide participants of both sides with the opportunity to learn from each other in terms of efficiency and personal capability, as well as to bring their newly acquired experience into practice in their own workplace.

The Assistant Director (Management and Support) of the Immigration Department, Mr Corrado Chow, said co-operation and communication between the department and the relevant Mainland authorities were increasing.  ¡°The attachment programmes are highly desirable with a view to facilitating the exchange of knowledge and sharing of experience between our officers and Mainland counterparts,¡± Mr Chow said.
