Hong Kong East Cluster Investigation Panel

The spokesperson of Hong Kong East Cluster (HKEC) made the following announcement today (April 9):

    On April 8, Mr Choy Wan-fung claimed of being maltreated during his stay at Cheshire Home, Chung Hom Kok (CCH) via the radio programme. HKEC is very concerned of the allegation of resident being maltreated. Following the maltreatment allegation and communication problem between the medical staff and the patient, an Investigation Panel was set up by HKEC to investigate into the incident.

    The terms of reference of the Investigation Panel are (1) to investigate Mr Choy¡¯s complaints and (2) to make recommendations based on investigation results.

    The Investigation Panel will be chaired by Dr Tang Chung-ngai, Cluster Service Director (Quality & Risk Management). Members included Dr Wong Chun-por, Member of Hospital Governing Committee, CCH, Ms Sandra Chow Mun-yuk, Member of Public Complaints Committee, HA, and Ms Civy Leung Sui-kei, Cluster General Manager (Nursing).

    After completion of fact-finding and investigation, the Panel will finalise an investigation report in 4 weeks¡¯ time. The investigation report will be submitted to HKEC and Hospital Authority.
