MPFA will not file winding-up petition against Sing Pao for now

The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (April 8) decided not to file a winding-up petition to the High Court against Sing Pao Newspaper Management Limited for the time being upon receipt from the company of some $4.9 million in defaulted MPF contributions (including the $4.2 million in defaulted contributions involved in the current winding-up procedure, and some $700,000 in MPF contributions in arrears for the contribution period from October to December, 2007).
