The Chief Executive has re-appointed the incumbent chairperson, Ms Priscilla Wong Pui-sze, and the following four members to the Appeal Board under the Betting Duty Ordinance. The appointments are for two years with effect from March 10, 2008:
- Mr Cheung Chiu-fan
- Mr Fung Man-wai
- Miss Lau Pui-king
- Ms Judy Tong Kei-yuk
The Chief Executive has also appointed the following three new members to the Appeal Board:
- Mr Raymond Wong Kwai-sang
- Mr Stanley Choi Tak-shing
- Ms Sabrina Leung Heung-ying
According to the Betting Duty Ordinance, the function of the Appeal Board is to determine appeals lodged by the licensees of authorised lotteries, horse race and football betting relating to the following:
(a) the variation of the licensing conditions;
(b) the imposition of financial penalty on the licensee; and
(c) the revocation of licence.
The appointments have been published in the Gazette today (March 7).
