No.3 Alarm Fire in Wong Chuk Hang Roundup

    A range of single-storey tin-sheeted and wooden structure measuring about 40 x 60 metres was severely damaged in a No. 3 alarm fire in Wong Chuk Hang yesterday (March 1).

    The fire broke out at San Wai Chuen at 8.41pm last night and was upgraded to No.3 alarm at 9.17pm.  The fire was put out at 10.24pm.  Firemen used eight jets and 12 breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.

    A man who sustained burns to his face was sent to hospital.  120 people were evacuated to a place of safety.

    No suspicious circumstances were detected about the cause of the fire.
