In view of the persistently high hospital demand for blood transfusions, and some patients urgently requiring large volume blood transfusions lately, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) appeals to the public to come forward to donate blood as soon as possible. To ensure an adequate supply of blood, the BTS urgently needs some 1,000 people to donate blood every day (in particular Type A and Type O blood donors).
For enquiries about blood donation, the public can call the BTS hotline at 2710 1234 or visit its website at www.ha.org.hk/rcbts.
Every minute counts in saving lives. Many patients are waiting for those who are blood type A or type O to act immediately!
