The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, today (February 26) visited the Southern District to see for himself the latest developments in the district. He also visited elderly singletons living in Tin Wan Estate Housing for Senior Citizen and a social enterprise.

During his visit to the Tin Wan Estate Housing for Senior Citizen, Mr Tsang chatted with two elderly singletons, aged 76 and 81, to learn more about their daily lives and needs. Noting that elderly people were invaluable assets to society and that they had worked diligently for the community in the past, Mr Tsang said that various sectors in the community should show more concern and care for them so that they could enjoy their elderly years.

Mr Tsang also visited a social enterprise in the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex. The "Enterprise Vegetable and Fruit Processing and Supply Service" not only provides jobs for the disabled to encourage them to realise their full potential, but also provides reliable vegetable and fruit processing and supply services to customers. Mr Tsang praised the service centre for providing employment to the under-privileged to help them to be self-reliant and integrate into society.

During his visit to Cyberport, Mr Tsang watched animation productions at the IncuTrain Centre. He also toured the Digital Media Centre and a digital technology company which has its headquarters in Cyberport.
