GovWiFi Logo and Slogan Competition opens
*****************************************

Creative minds are now invited to come up with a representative logo and slogans that help convey the benefits of the Government Wi-Fi programme, GovWiFi. Come and join the GovWiFi Logo and Slogan Competition.

GovWiFi is a major Government initiative to make Hong Kong a wireless city. Under the programme, the Government will progressively provide Wi-Fi facilities from March 2008 to June 2009 at about 350 government premises throughout the territory for free use by the public.

All Hong Kong identity-card holders aged 11 or above can enter either the Logo Design or the Slogan Creation parts of the competition, or both. Entrants may submit up to three designs for each part of the competition on or before January 25, 2008.

A judging panel comprising representatives from the Information Services Department and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer will consider which entries best express the theme and idea of the GovWiFi programme, their overall aesthetic level, creativity and suitability for printing as a visible sign and onto souvenirs.

Winners will receive gift coupons and their winning entries may be displayed on relevant publicity materials and all hotspot locations of GovWiFi, including public libraries, job centres, public enquiry centres, key cultural and recreation centres, community halls/centres, government offices and large parks.

Details of the competition and the online application form are available at www.gov.hk/wifi .
