WSD responds to suspension of fresh water supply

In response to press enquiries on the suspension of fresh water supply incident in Cheung Chau today (December 23), a spokesman for the Water Supplies Department said, ¡°the suspension was due to main burst of a 300 millimeter diameter land main located at Chi Ma Wan and defects in the Cheung Chau water supply system this morning, the fresh water supply to the whole of Cheung Chau was suspended at 3.45 pm.¡±
¡°After emergency repair, the water supply resumed normal at 5.45 pm.¡± the spokesman added.
