Fifty-one pollution convictions in November

    Fifty-one convictions were recorded last month (November) for breaches of anti-pollution legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.

     Twenty-four of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, 17 under the Waste Disposal Ordinance, and 10 under the Noise Control Ordinance.

     The heaviest fine in November was $20,000.ĦĦA person who exported controlled waste without a permit and failed to engage the services of waste collector was sentenced to two months' imprisonment.ĦĦ
