In view of the persistent high demand for type O and type A blood lately, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) appeals to those who are either type O or A blood group to act now and make a blood donation. The BTS forecasts that on top of the daily requirement of 800 donations, an addition of 50 donors each for type O and A blood group will be necessary per day to maintain an adequate reserve of these two blood types.
