The following is a statement from Home Affairs Bureau in response to media enquiries:
"The Home Affairs Bureau received a complaint from a member of the public today accusing the way the telephone poll was conducted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Public Policy Research Institute (the Institute).
"We have immediately requested the Institute, which was commissioned by the Home Affairs Bureau to study the public views collected during the public engagement of the West Kowloon Cultural District, to explain and respond to the complaint. According to the verbal report by the Institute, the Institute has deviated from the professional guideline when conducting the telephone poll on West Kowloon Cultural District. We have demanded the Institute to conduct a thorough investigation and provide a report.
"We are highly concerned about this issue and depending on the report from the Institute, will take action as appropriate."
