No chloroxylenol detected in further bottled tea samples taken by CFS
*********************************************************

The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) announced today (October 16) that no chloroxylenol (an antiseptic ingredient) was detected in six bottled tea samples.

In response to the incident involving a nine-year-old boy who was admitted to hospital for observation after reportedly consuming a bottled tea, the CFS is investigating the case in collaboration with the Police and the Centre for Health Protection.

The CFS collected six samples, comprising different flavours of bottled teas of the same brand, including the product concerned, from the supplier's factory and warehouse for testing.

Together with the nine samples of same brand of products taken from various retail outlets on October 13, the CFS has collected a total of 15 samples.  No chloroxylenol was found in all samples.
