The Chairman of the Education Commission, Dr Alice Lam, issued the following statement after the Chief Executive's announcement of the Policy Address today (October 10):
Dr Lam said: ¡°The Education Bureau has briefed members of the Commission on the new initiatives of the education portfolio of the Policy Agenda.¡±
¡°I welcome the Government's announcement of the new initiatives in responding positively to the aspirations of the education sector and the community as a whole. They are built upon the present strengths and will further enhance the quality of our education services.
¡°I believe the Education Bureau will fully consult stakeholders in working out the implementation details and will consult members of the Education Commission if necessary,¡± she added.
