Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, at a media session at the lobby of Central Government Offices today (July 5) in response to a number of criminal damage cases:
Secretary for Security: We notice that there have been a number of criminal damage cases these two days. We are very concerned and we condemn such illegal acts. The police have already assigned the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau to take over these cases. I wish to appeal to the community if any person has any information or intelligence on these kind of illegal acts, please contact the Police.
Reporter: Do you think they are challenging the law and order of Hong Kong?
Secretary for Security: Of course. These people are challenging the whole community, challenging the government as well as the Police Force.
