Roving exhibition for HKSAR 10th anniversary (with photo)
*********************************************************

Hong Kong's achievements in various fields over the past decade will be highlighted in a roving exhibition at nine venues throughout the territory over three consecutive weekends this month (July).

Organised by the Information Services Department, the "HKSAR 10th Anniversary" exhibition will depict what makes Hong Kong special to its residents and the world, as well as the progress it has made on many fronts since reunification with China on July 1, 1997.

The multi-media exhibition, starting Friday afternoon (July 6), will centre around five qualities that have underpinned Hong Kong's ongoing success in the past 10 years.

"Autonomy" focuses on how Hong Kong has thrived and prospered under the existing social and economic system and within the framework of "One Country, Two Systems" guaranteed by the Basic Law.

"Asia's world city" emphasises its role as a dynamic physical and cultural hub with world-class infrastructure that is full of entrepreneurial opportunities.

"Partnership" underlines the city's status as the gateway to the Mainland, and how this has been strengthened by the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) and Pan-Pearl River Delta regional co-operation.

"Attractions" puts the spotlight on the ever-widening array of cultural attractions and amenities that attract leisure and business visitors from around the world.

Finally, "The Hong Kong spirit" pays tribute to the enthusiasm, resilience and "can do" spirit that have enabled its citizens to surmount many challenges and crises and score outstanding successes in the business and sporting worlds.

In addition, visitors can learn more about the lifestyles of giant pandas and have their pictures taken against a backdrop showing the pandas.  They can also enjoy interactive games and watch videos in celebration of the historic and joyous occasion of the 10th anniversary.

Also on display is a gist of the many special events that are being staged in the coming months to celebrate the 10th Anniversary.

All Hong Kong residents who participate in any three of the activities listed on the "10th Anniversary Celebrations Events Calendar" (including the roving exhibition) and who collect the relevant entry stubs or tickets will be eligible to enter a lucky draw for a pair of special limited-edition anniversary figurines.

The "HKSAR 10th Anniversary" roving exhibition will be held at the following venues and dates. Admission is free.
