A solemn Grade III historical building has become the Office of Former Chief Executives of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
A government spokesman said today (April 21) that its use as a government office was a way to better preserve the historical building at 28 Kennedy Road.
¡°The Office is to be made available to two to three former Chief Executives to perform promotional, protocol-related, or any other activities in relation to their former official role.
¡°Some of these activities include receiving visiting dignitaries and delegations, giving local and overseas media interviews, and taking part in speaking engagements.
¡°The Office will also provide administrative support for former Chief Executives,¡± he said.
Arrangements will be made for the building premises to be open to the public on designated days.
