************************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

Ballots were drawn for the Sale of Surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats ¡ª 2007 Phase 1 today (February 12) to determine applicants' priority in flat selection. The ballot drawing ceremony was hosted by Chairman of the Housing Authority's Subsidised Housing Committee Mr Michael Choi Ngai-min.

During the application period from January 2 to 15, 14,023 applications were received, of which 9,807 were White Forms (WF) and 4,216 were Green Forms (GF).

The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) had earlier set the quota allocation between GF and WF at 80:20. The top priority is given to families affected by HA-initiated clearance programmes. Next in priority are GF families and WF nuclear families with elderly members, followed by families with two or more members. Last in line are one-person households.

A total of 3,056 unoccupied completed flats are put on sale in the current sales exercise. They are situated in Kingsford Terrace Stage 1 (1,200 units) in Wong Tai Sin, Yu Chui Court (1,489 units) in Sha Tin and Tin Fu Court (367 units) in Tin Shui Wai. In addition to these three HA Courts, applicants can also choose from the 576 completed flats in Kingston Terrace in Tuen Mun offered by the Hong Kong Housing Society.

Notifications for flat selection, along with the sales brochures, price list and other relevant information, will be mailed to eligible applicants in batches according to ballot results. The on-site show flats in the three Courts will be opened to prospective buyers during the flat selection period.

The ballot results (please refer to attached file) will be available later on the Housing Authority / Housing Department Web Site (http://www.housingauthority.gov.hk). They will also be posted tomorrow (February 13) at the HA Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu, all public housing estate offices and Home Affairs District Offices for public inspection. Applicants may contact the HA Sales Hotline (2712 8000) for any questions.
