Employer ordered to pay MPF non-payment

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (January 24) obtained an order in the District Court for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $560,000 against an employer.
The District Court had earlier issued a judgment against All Clad Asia Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $569,066.87, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 34 employees.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payment of $2,730 as cost in respect of the claim.
