Castle Peak Hospital gastroenteritis cases

A spokesperson of Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) made the following announcement today (January 15):

     Four female patients (aged 31 to 60) in a long-stay ward have presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms since January 12.  All have been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment under isolation and are in stable condition.  Appropriate tests are being carried out and results are pending.

     Infection control measures of the ward concerned have been enhanced.  Admission and visiting to the ward have been suspended while all patients are under close medical surveillance.  

     The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
