The Government today (January 2) announced the appointment of Ms Shirley Chan Suk-ling as a member of the Board of the Ocean Park Corporation. The appointment is from January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2008.
Ms Chan is a member of the Quality Tourism Services Committee, an executive committee member of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, and the Vice-chairman of the Retail Management Association.
"Ms Chan has rich experience in the commercial sector and retail marketing which will be useful in assisting the corporation map out its marketing strategy," a government spokesman said.
"We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the outgoing member, Dr Eden Woon, for his active involvement in the work of the board, and valuable contribution to the business and development of the Ocean Park," the spokesman said.
The Board of Ocean Park Corporation is a statutory body established under the Ocean Park Corporation Ordinance, to manage and control the Ocean Park as a public recreational and educational park.
