2007 "Hong Kong Story" Calendar available free of charge (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education:

     The 2007 "Hong Kong Story" Calendar produced by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education (CPCE) will be distributed to the public free of charge on a first come, first served basis from December 1, 2006.

     With the theme "Hong Kong Story", the 2007 calendar contrasts the Hong Kong of the past and the present, and highlights the people's unremitting perseverance.

     Distribution points include the Home Affairs Department's Public Enquiry Service Centres, public libraries, city halls and town halls, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong Museum of History, and the Civic Education Resource Centre, 2/F Tung Sun Commercial Centre, 200 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai.

     A temporary distribution counter will also be set up in the Kowloon Tong Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Station and Quarry Bay MTR Station at 3pm and 5.30pm respectively on December 1, 2006. The counters will be closed once the stock is exhausted.

     To publicise the calendar, the CPCE will hold a sharing session at 7.30pm tomorrow (November 28) at Leighton Hill Community Hall, Happy Valley. The CPCE Chairman, Dr Pang King-chee, together with renowned artist, Ah Chung; designer of the calendar, Tai Nai; and actor Mr Cheung Chi-kwong will share with participants their memories and experiences of past and present Hong Kong.
