Regarding a geriatric and rehabilitation ward in Haven of Hope Hospital (HHH) in which there were four patients and two staff members with diarrhea or vomiting symptoms recently, the hospital announced the following update today (October 5):
One more male patient (aged 87) had presented with diarrhea symptom and was positive to Norovirus. So far there are totally five patients presented with the symptomsˇˇof diarrhea or vomiting. The test results of four patients are positive to Norovirus.
Infection control measures of the ward concerned have been enhanced, thorough cleansing and disinfection have been carried out in the ward. There will be no admission to and discharge from the concerned ward for the time being, visiting is also suspended. All other patients in the concerned ward are under close medical surveillance.
The cases have been reported to Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
