Draft Sai Kung Town Outline Zoning Plan amended

    The Town Planning Board today (May 4) announced amendments to the draft Sai Kung Town Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     One of the amendments is the rezoning of an area at Mei Yuen Street from "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC") to "Other Specified Uses" annotated 'Town Square with Recreational, Community and Commercial Uses'.

     Amendments have also been made to some "G/IC" sites.  These include the rezoning of seven areas to "G/IC(1)"; rezoning of eight areas to "G/IC(2)"; rezoning of an area to "G/IC(3)"; rezoning of three areas to "G/IC(4)"; and rezoning of the Sai Kung Government Offices at Chan Man Street to "G/IC(5)".

     The Notes of the OZP have also been amended to include a set of Notes for the "Other Specified Uses" annotated 'Town Square with Recreational, Community and Commercial Uses' zone and revise the Notes for the "G/IC" zone to include building height restrictions for different sub-areas.

     The draft Sai Kung Town OZP No. S/SK-SKT/3, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours until May 25, 2006 at the following locations :

* Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, 15/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road;

* Planning Enquiry Counters, 17/F, North Point Government Offices and 14/F, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road;

* Sai Kung and Islands District Planning Office, 15/F, Sha Tin Government Offices;

* Sai Kung District Office, 2/F, Sai Kung Government Offices, 34 Chan Man Street; and

* Sai Kung Rural Committee, 1 Rural Committee Lane, Sai Kung.

     Any person affected by the amendments may submit written objections to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before May 25, 2006.  

     Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the board's website at http://www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
