Man jailed for trafficking in a dangerous drug

    The High Court today (April 25) sentenced a 44-year-old man to six years' imprisonment for trafficking in dangerous drugs.

     The court heard that following extensive investigations, officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau intercepted the 44-year-old man at 9 Un Chau Street, Sham Shui Po, on September 14, 2005.

     A plastic bag containing 141 grams of mixture with 90.52 grams of heroin were found inside a waist bag the man was carrying. He was arrested and later charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

     The haul had a street value of about $86,000.

     The man appeared in the High Court on March 6, 2006, and pleaded guilty to charge, and sentence was handed down today.
