It's the best gift of all. The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) is inviting people to donate blood regularly to give patients in need of a transfusion the gift of life. The BTS will organise "Let's Paint Colour of Life Let's Give Blood" activity this spring. Donors who give blood from April 3 to 17, 2006, will be presented with a "Let’s Paint Colour of Life" square towel (see photo attached) as a souvenir while stock lasts.
During the public holidays in April, some blood donor centres will provide service as detailed in the attached timetable.
People who are aged 16 to 65, weighing more than 41kgs and healthy can be a blood donor. Male donors aged 18 or above can give blood every 3 months while female donors can give every 4 months. Young people aged between 16 and 17 can donate every 6 months, with parent’s consent for blood donation.
