FEHD serves prohibition order
*****************************

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (March 15) served a Prohibition Order (PO) on a disco and karaoke in Yau Ma Tei.

A department spokesman said the 348 Disco and Karaoke, at 348 Nathan Road, provided a venue for dancing without holding a valid licence.

Under the law, a Places of Public Entertainment Licence (Dance Party) is required if the dancing activity is attended by more than 200 people or if any part of the dancing activity occurs between 2 am and 6 am.

"Despite our repeated warnings and prosecution actions, the said establishment continued its unlicensed dancing activity.

"We therefore apply to the Court for a PO against the said premises," the spokesman said.

"In accordance with the law, the PO will take effect on the eighth day, i.e. March 23, after it is posted at the premises," he said.
