The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority today (March 7) successfully prosecuted a director of a liquidated limited company who was convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance.
The defendant, Patrick Yuen Siu Ying, director of Sun Tung Lok Caterers (Management & Consultant) Limited and held responsible for the company's administration, was charged with offences under section 7A(8) of the Ordinance. The defendant pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to make MPF contributions within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between January and March, 2005. The defendant was fined $6,000 for the first summons and $3,000 each for the other two summonses, totalling $12,000.
