The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, has conducted her third day visit in San Francisco.
This morning (June 4, San Francisco time), Mrs Lam, accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Mr Duncan Pescod, met with the President of the San Francisco Port Commission, Mr Willie Adams, to understand the latest waterfront development plan of the San Francisco waterfront area and exchange experiences in enhancing the waterfront for public enjoyment. She was then given a briefing on board a vessel on the developments along the waterfront by representatives of the Port of San Francisco.
In the afternoon, Mrs Lam and Mr Pescod met with the Director of the Asian Art Museum, Dr Jay Xu, and were given a tour of the museum, which houses one of the most comprehensive Asian art collections in the world.
In the evening, Mrs Lam attended a dinner with Hong Kong people working and studying in San Francisco to update them on Hong Kong's latest developments and draw their attention to the various talent admission schemes in Hong Kong, particularly the Admission Scheme for the Second Generation of Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Residents which, since its inception a year ago, has attracted over 50 successful applicants from the United States.
Tomorrow (June 5, San Francisco time) morning, Mrs Lam will proceed to Washington, DC, and arrive in the evening (Washington, DC Time). On Monday (June 6, Washington, DC Time), Mrs Lam will meet with senior government officials, members of Congress and senior representatives of think tanks, and attend a business luncheon.
