The Judiciary today (May 24) announced the appointment of Mrs Audrey Patricia Campbell-Moffat, SC, as Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court. The appointment will take effect from May 25, 2016.
The appointment is made by the Chief Executive on the recommendation of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission.
The biographical note of Mrs Campbell-Moffat, SC, is as follows:
Mrs Campbell-Moffat, SC, was born in 1956 in England. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the Open University and LL.B. from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom in 1982 and 1986 respectively. She further acquired LL.M. from King's College, University of London, United Kingdom, in 1990. She was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 1987 and in Hong Kong in 2000. She was appointed as Senior Counsel in 2013. She was in private practice from 1988 to 2015. She served as a Deputy Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court since April 2015.
