The spokesperson of Tuen Mun Hospital issued the following update today (May 23) regarding an earlier announcement on a cluster of Multi-drug Resistant Acinetobacter (MDRA) in a male Orthopaedics and Traumatology ward:
The hospital has continued with the screening procedures and confirmed one more 89-year-old patient to have MDRA. He is now hospitalised under medical surveillance and isolation with stable condition.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up. The hospital will continue the enhanced infection control measures and closely monitor the situation.
