Long before passengers arrive, Airport Authority maintenance professionals are working behind the scenes late at night to ensure the runway is safe for aircraft.
They are part of an essential team that ensures Hong Kong International Airport runs smoothly as it handles an average of 1 100 flights a day making it one of the world's busiest airports.
News.gov.hk was granted access to the airport at night to speak with three members of the airport team who revealed what happens after the last plane has touched down.
